We live in an age of “ Connections”. many fast and technical and others very personal and enduring. Ivan thought it would be interesting to explore the influences of other styles by blending Canadian Downeast “old time” fiddling with the Celtic guitar sounds of Scotland and American Bluegrass , banjo styles.
This album contains 15 tracks that were all composed by Ivan.

The first connection was between Ivan and Tony McManus at the " FIddles Of The World" , an international fiddling event held in Halifax, NS July 1999. Tony is the Celtic influence.

Gary Morris, producer, engineer and musician on this recording and Raymond McLain , who plays banjo and mandolin had known each other frm previous musical events.

Raymond brings the bluegrass influence. Add to this the steady playing of Bassist , Terry Poirier, and the piano stylings of Ivan's wife , Vivian , and you have an interesting connection of ideas, arrangements and musicians.
